Located in Florida, E Sushi & Grill is a Japanese restaurant led by owner Ning, who personally oversees the kitchen.
When she first opened her restaurant, Ning used a different POS system. Over time, the issues became clear: high processing fees, annual charges, extra support costs, and slow service response. For a small business, the pressure added up quickly.
In 2021, after a staff member recommended MenuSifu, Ning decided to switch.
"At the beginning, there was an adjustment period," she shared. "But once we got used to it, I realized it was much easier to use, the pricing was more reasonable, and the support team was very responsive."
She eventually moved all systems—including payment terminals—to MenuSifu, and when opening her new location, she chose MenuSifu again without hesitation.
What truly changed the way E Sushi & Grill operates, however, was MenuSifu Online Ordering.
Before that, Ning had tried other delivery platforms. Some charged high commission percentages. Others required logging into iPads to receive orders, which caused missed tickets when the network was unstable. In many cases, staff had to print orders and manually re-enter them into the POS.
"It was messy, and we lost orders," Ning explained.
With MenuSifu Online Ordering, customers now place orders directly on the restaurant's website, and orders go straight into the kitchen automatically—no phone calls, no re-entry, no delays.
"Now we prefer to guide customers to order online," she said. "It saves labor, and everything goes directly to the kitchen. It's much more stable."
Over time, Ning gradually turned off other third-party delivery platforms and kept only MenuSifu's online ordering system.
To support this shift, MenuSifu also provided offline marketing materials and campaign support—including small cards placed in takeout bags and table inserts—to guide third-party customers to the website for their next order.
MenuSifu also designed a "10% off first online order" promotion, helping lower the barrier for customers to try direct ordering and increasing website conversion.
"The cards in the takeout bags really help," Ning shared. "Customers see the discount and next time they order from our site instead."
Today, E Sushi & Grill is steadily moving traffic away from high-commission platforms and building its own direct ordering channel.
From switching POS systems due to cost and service issues, to choosing MenuSifu Online Ordering as the primary sales channel, E Sushi & Grill has taken a clear step toward owning its customers and protecting its margins.
For Ning, MenuSifu is no longer just a POS provider—it is the foundation that allows her to run her business with confidence.
